Carl Strommen’s “Wings,” among the contents of the Georgetown Choral Society’s large music library, represented a great first pandemic project for the choir: appealing, not too difficult, and especially bearing such symbolism of freedom and liberation when the choir and its choristers were so unusually limited by circumstance.
The virtual audio was collected from choristers’ home recordings to a reference video, assembled and mastered in Steinberg Cubase Elements 10.5. The video incorporating red kite hawks in flight and the photographs of choristers’ faces was conceived of and created in Cyberlink PowerDirector 18 by GCS Artistic Director, Christopher Dawes.
